The American Cancer Socity is the nationwide community based voluntary helath organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives and diminishing suffering from cancer through RESEARCH, EDUCATION, ADVOCACY, AND PATIENT SERVICES.

2015 Goals:

-50% reduction in deaths from cancer (5 million lives)

-25% reduction in incidence of cancer (6 million lives)

- Improved quality of life for those diagnosed with cancer

RELAY FOR LIFE is the signature event of the American Cancer Society, and it enables the Society to reach those 2015 goals.   Relay is a fun-filled overnight event designed to celebrate survivorship and raise funds to support the mission of the American Cancer Society.

RELAY FOR LIFE OF SECOND LIFE is entering it's 4th year as the largest virtual fundraing event in the world.  In 2007, the Relay For Life Of Second Life raised over $120,000 US Dollars in 6 months.  That is Dollars NOT Lindens.

Your donation, no matter how large or small is utilized by the American Cancer Society to help FIGHT BACK against cancer thru the avenues mentioned above.

This Year the monies raised specifically from the Relay For Life Of Second Life are earmarked by the ACS to go towards.
